Creative Cauldron was founded by our Producing Director, Laura Connors Hull, in February 2002. Since its incorporation, Creative Cauldron has grown tremendously. We're proud to call the Little City of Falls Church home since taking up residence in ArtSpace Falls Church in 2009. OUR MISSION: Guided by the belief that creativity is a fundamental need of the human spirit, Creative Cauldron is dedicated to providing affordable, enriching, and diverse experiences in the performing and visual arts to Northern Virginia and the greater Washington, DC community. Creative Cauldron gives people of all ages, incomes and backgrounds opportunities to connect and grow through the arts. We create original productions, present a broad array of art and artists, and offer transformative educational programs in an intimate and collaborative atmosphere. ​Our programs and performances currently serve approximately 12,000 patrons annually from the City of Falls Church and surrounding counties as well as from Maryland, the District and visitors to the DC metro area. Many of our productions are completely original works conceived of by our Founder and Producing Director, Laura Connors Hull, alongside our amazing circle of teaching artists, including acclaimed composer Matt Conner and scenic designer Margie Jervis. Twelve of Creative Cauldron's productions have been Helen Hayes Awards © Recommended - Nevermore, Cole Porter: You're the Top!, Thunder Knocking on the Door, Marry Me a Little, Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris, The Turn of the Screw, Once on This Island, The World Goes 'Round, Monsters of the Villa Diodati, Caroline, or Change, Ruthless! The Musical, Blues in the Night, and Kaleidoscope. Jacques Brel actor Alan Naylor won the 2015 Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Musical (Helen Production) and both Iyona Blake and Tiara Whaley brought home the 2017 Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Lead Actress and Supporting Actress in a Musical (Helen Production). Monsters of the Villa Diodati actor Sam Ludwig was nominated in 2017 for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Musical and Creative Cauldron also received five Helen Hayes Award nominations in 2016 for Once on This Island (Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Supporting Actress - Jade Jones) and The Turn of the Screw (Outstanding Ensemble, Outstanding Supporting Actor - Ethan Miller, Outstanding Director - Matt Conner & Stephen Gregory Smith).

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL Now preparing for its fourteenth season on the Big Island, Hawaii Performing Arts Festival brings together some of the most talented young musicians from Hawaii, the U.S., Canada, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, South America and Europe to Hawaii Island between late June and early August to study, grow and perform with professional musical performer/teachers. The results are astonishing. During the 2018 Festival weeks — June 26 through July 24 — more than 20 concerts and stage performances will be presented, giving the students invaluable experience and the privilege of appearing on stage with some of the top musical artists in their field. Performances are held around the Big Island and on Oahu. In the months between Festivals, HPAF offers performances ranging from An Evening at the Stork Club held at Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel to intimate house concerts featuring favorite artists. MISSION STATEMENT HPAF is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the appreciation and advancement of classical music and musical theater, to offer a world-class music training and performance program in the inspirational setting of Hawaii, and to improve the education and elevate the spirit of all who participate, especially the local community.
