Every year, governments, foundations, universities, and scientists invest thousands of hours and millions of dollars generating research about arts and culture. Some of that research might hold insights crucial to solving our most pressing challenges—yet busy decision-makers hardly have time to take it all in. Without a comprehensive understanding of what that research says and what it all means, we might as well all be in the dark. Createquity makes sense of all that research for you. We are a think tank and online publication investigating the most important issues in the arts and what we, collectively and individually, can do about them. And we’re on a long-term mission to help make the world a better place by better understanding the arts. Createquity’s combination of rigorous evidence review and lively writing represents an exciting and unprecedented model. Rather than 100-page PDFs, we present our insights in engaging multimedia articles that bring the stories and challenges of each topic to life. In addition, we offer subscribers roundups of the important news stories each month, regular reviews of new and notable research reports, and a transparency initiative that shines a light on our investigations as they take place. Since 2007, Createquity has won acclaim for its incisive analysis of arts research, philanthropy, and policy. Readers have described Createquity as “so amazingly good it’s almost in its own category of resource” and “the strongest, most provocative, well connected arts [publication]…that exists today.” Our 12,000+ followers and regular readers include a who’s who of policymakers, funders, thought leaders, administrators, and artists around the world. Join them today and come be a part of the solution.

Last Update: 2025-12-03

The Center for Inquiry strives to foster a secular society based on reason, science, freedom of inquiry, and humanist values. The Center for Inquiry (CFI) is a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit organization dedicated to defending science and critical thinking in examining religion. CFI’s vision is a world in which evidence, science, and compassion—rather than superstition, pseudoscience, or prejudice—guide public policy. To make a better world, we need to use our heads and our hearts. To confront the challenges that face us as a planetary civilization, we need to use the tools of science and reason guided by compassion and respect for the dignity of every individual. To move forward, we need to discard old superstitions, prejudices, and magical thinking and embrace facts, evidence, and critical thinking. It’s about more than whether or not God exists. It’s about more than whether ghosts roam among us, aliens hover above us, or psychics can see within us. The Center for Inquiry (CFI) strives to foster a society free of the dogmatic influence of religion and pseudoscience; a society inspired by the ideals of the Enlightenment, the wonders of science, and the limitless potential of human intelligence and creativity; a society in which beliefs are not granted the same rights as people, where the freedom of expression is enjoyed by all, and all ideas are open to the scrutiny of reason. Secular government. Free inquiry. Critical thinking. Humanist values. This is the Center for Inquiry.

Description

Sigstore Timestamp Authority is a service for issuing RFC 3161 timestamps. Prior to 2.0.3, Function api.ParseJSONRequest currently splits (via a call to strings.Split) an optionally-provided OID (which is untrusted data) on periods. Similarly, function api.getContentType splits the Content-Type header (which is also untrusted data) on an application string. As a result, in the face of a malicious request with either an excessively long OID in the payload containing many period characters or a malformed Content-Type header, a call to api.ParseJSONRequest or api.getContentType incurs allocations of O(n) bytes (where n stands for the length of the function's argument). This vulnerability is fixed in 2.0.3.

Description

Monkeytype is a minimalistic and customizable typing test. In 25.49.0 and earlier, there is improper handling of user input which allows an attacker to execute malicious javascript on anyone viewing a malicious quote submission. quote.text and quote.source are user input, and they're inserted straight into the DOM. If they contain HTML tags, they will be rendered (after some escaping using quotes and textarea tags).

Description

Taiko Alethia is an Ethereum-equivalent, permissionless, based rollup designed to scale Ethereum without compromising its fundamental properties. In 2.3.1 and earlier, TaikoInbox._verifyBatches (packages/protocol/contracts/layer1/based/TaikoInbox.sol:627-678) advanced the local tid to whatever transition matched the current blockHash before knowing whether that batch would actually be verified. When the loop later broke (e.g., cooldown window not yet passed or transition invalidated), the function still wrote that newer tid into batches[lastVerifiedBatchId].verifiedTransitionId after decrementing batchId. Result: the last verified batch could end up pointing at a transition index from the next batch (often zeroed), corrupting the verified chain pointer.
