For over twenty years the Centenary Stage Company has served as a cultural resource for our community and the beautiful Skylands region. Our mission as a theatre has always been to entertain, enlighten, and inspire. Each year we venture forth on a journey we hope will have an impact on the lives of our diverse audience. We celebrate our commitment to you each year not only with professional Equity Theatre, but also our state-acclaimed Young Performers Workshop, Young Audience Series: Children’s Theatre on Tour program, and special events that include a Jazz and Concert Series. We hold steadfast to the belief in the transformative power of art, specifically live performance. There is something singular and magical that occurs in the presence of the living artist and performer. When someone asks "What kind of theatre are you?" we reply "We are the kind that does seriously good work." It is our hope that our seasons are not predictable or repetitive, but constantly changing and evolving like the theatre itself. Whether it is professional theatre, children’s programming, jazz, classical, or blues, we have a commitment to celebrate the arts in all their diverse glory.

Founded in 2015, The Orchestra Now (TŌN) is an innovative pre-professional orchestra and master’s degree program at Bard College that is preparing a new generation of musicians to break down barriers between modern audiences and great orchestral music of the past and present. Under the leadership of conductor, educator, and music historian Leon Botstein, TŌN mines the wealth of underperformed repertoire, reimagines traditional concert formats, and strives to make the experience of the performers a part of the listeners’ experience. The musicians of TŌN hail from across the U.S. and eleven other countries: Australia, Canada, China, France, Hungary, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Spain, Taiwan, and Venezuela. In addition to a concert series at their home base—the Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts at Bard College—they perform multiple concerts each season at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, and offer complimentary concerts at venues across the boroughs of New York City in the Around Town series. At The Metropolitan Museum of Art they join Leon Botstein in the series Sight & Sound as he explores the places where musical and visual expression meet, pairing orchestral works with masterpieces from the museum’s collection.
