Precision Control Systems/Research Inc. manufactures and provides services for industrial Infrared Heaters and related Systems. We are staffed with exceptionally talented engineers and technicians; many have been with us for 20+ years. Our employees thrive on delivering innovative custom solutions for our customers’ industrial heating needs. Founded in 1951, Research Inc. (RI) began developing products and services mainly for the aircraft industry. They provided solutions for aerodynamic and thermodynamic problems. RI concentrated on designing and fabricating test equipment, instrumentation, computers, and aircraft accessories. Years later, Precision Control Systems (PCS) was formed by former employees of RI. PCS started offering control systems and support for RI customers. Eventually, PCS added infrared heaters and heating systems to their family of products. In 2007 PCS acquired RI’s Infrared heating division along with the Research Inc. name. Both the standard products of RI along with the key personnel that have the knowledge and skills to design, manufacture and support all the products of RI became part of the new PCS/Research Inc. company.

Description

ThingsBoard in versions prior to v4.2.1 allows an authenticated user to upload malicious SVG images via the "Image Gallery", leading to a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability. The exploit can be triggered when any user accesses the public API endpoint of the malicious SVG images, or if the malicious images are embedded in an `iframe` element, during a widget creation, deployed to any page of the platform (e.g., dashboards), and accessed during normal operations. The vulnerability resides in the `ImageController`, which fails to restrict the execution of JavaScript code when an image is loaded by the user's browser. This vulnerability can lead to the execution of malicious code in the context of other users' sessions, potentially compromising their accounts and allowing unauthorized actions.
