The Birmingham Repertory Theatre – affectionately known as “The Rep” – is one of the most influential companies in the history of the English stage and remains at the forefront of theatre in the UK. Many of our productions go on tour, championing Birmingham and positively contributing to its national and international reputation. In this way, we have developed strong links with cities and cultural partners across the UK, Europe and the world. Our community outreach programme is one of the largest and most diverse in the Country. The Rep is one of Birmingham's most unique and versatile venues for conferencing and events, winning 'Venue Of The Year 2016'. We are centrally located in the heart of the city and boast state of the art facilities. As well as our three main auditoria, we have a range of other spaces including banqueting suites and exhibition areas. Our dedicated events team are passionate about creating personal, professional and memorable events. The Rep is the perfect place to entertain clients. Options include being treated to VIP hospitality in the theatre's private member's bar, enjoying a pre-theatre meal in a private dining room or having drinks with the cast on the theatre's famous stage. As a charity The Rep relies on the generosity of donors, funders and sponsors to continue our work both on stage and in the community. We are excited to announce that we are embarking on an ambitious fundraising campaign called Rep First which aims to raise £1 million over the next three years. Rep First will support three core areas of our work; nurturing young performers and theatre makers, creating new works and reaching out to new audiences and communities. We have always been pioneers and regularly provide our audiences with their first-ever experience of theatre and offer the next generation of theatre makers a first step in their careers. All funds raised over the next three years will contribute towards our £1 million target.

Parsons Dance is a contemporary American dance company, internationally renowned for its energized, athletic ensemble work. Founded in 1985 by Artistic Director David Parsons and Tony Award-winning lighting designer Howell Binkley, the company has toured to more than 445 cities, 30 countries, and 5 continents and has performed at such notable venues as The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Sydney Opera House, Maison de la Danse, Teatro La Fenice, and Teatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro. Heralded by The New York Times as “one of the great movers of modern dance,” David Parsons has received many accolades throughout his career, including three Choreography Fellowship Grants from the National Endowment for the Arts; the American Choreography Award; the Dance Magazine Award; a Howard Gilman Fellowship; the Dance Masters of America Annual Award, and the Capezio ACE Award. He has collaborated with iconic artists across all disciplines, including Dr. Billy Taylor, John Mackey, Kenji Bunch, Stephen Schwartz, Milton Nascimento, Allen Toussaint, William Ivey Long, Donna Karan, Annie Leibovitz, Ellsworth Kelly, and Alex Katz. The company performs works selected from the vast and varied repertory of more than 75 works created by David Parsons. In addition, established choreographers like Trey McIntyre and Monica Bill Barnes are invited to re-stage works from the American canon on its dancers. And, through its newly launched GenerationNOW Fellowship, the company offers commissions to young American choreographers whom Parsons mentors through the creative process. Parsons Dance is committed to providing enriching experiences beyond its performances as it seeks to engage audiences of all ages through education and outreach programs; through post-show discussions, open rehearsals, studio showcases, video workshops, open company classes, summer workshops for pre-professional dancers; and in-school workshops for public school students. The company is especially proud of an initiative that it launched in 2016--Autism-Friendly Programs, featuring sensory-friendly workshops and relaxed performances for audiences of all abilities. All these activities are driven by the vision of Artistic Director David Parsons, who, for more than 30 years, has combined his choreographic gifts and talent for training highly skilled dancers with a real passion for the art form.
