Founded in 1986 by David Y. H. Lui, Jean Orr and Sheila Begg, with Annette av Paul as first Artistic Director, the company has been under the artistic direction of Reid Anderson, Patricia Neary and Barry Ingham, followed by John Alleyne for 17 years and Emily Molnar for 11. Ballet BC is an internationally acclaimed collaborative and creation-based contemporary ballet company that is a leader and resource in the creation, production and education of contemporary dance in Canada. Bold and innovative, the Company’s distinctive style and approach has made a unique and valuable national contribution to the development of dance. In 2019, the Company was nominated for an Olivier Award for Best New Dance Production for their tour to Sadler’s Wells in London.

The Levitt Pavilion® produces one of the largest and longest-running outdoor performing arts series in the nation, including the Levitt Pavilion's signature “50+ Free Shows under the Stars” series (free-ticket shows) and its "Stars-on-Tour Series" (paid-ticket events). The Levitt Pavilion regularly presents acclaimed and award-winning artists across all genres - including GRAMMY Award winners and nominees, rising stars, local favorites, and international touring sensations. Programming features music, dance, comedy, film, theatre, circus, a dedicated series for children - and so much more - there’ s something for all ages and tastes! The Levitt Pavilion’s on-site outdoor programs run from April through October, welcoming 75,000+ patrons each year to its iconic amphitheater on the banks of the Saugatuck River in Downtown Westport. The Levitt Pavilion produces spectacular concerts and special events and series throughout the year, on site and off, create compelling cultural experiences and dialogues. Established in 1973, and presenting its first Season in 1974, the Levitt Pavilion in Connecticut remains an independent and unique 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that exists to: provide abundant free access to the performing arts; present and support a diverse and dynamic spectrum of artists from around the globe – all of whom are compensated; and preserve and cultivate an outdoor cultural destination and community hub where people of all ages and backgrounds are always welcome and encouraged to get to know the arts, nature, and each other. In 2014, the Levitt Pavilion cut the ribbon on its new home, representing its $9.5 million comprehensive capital campaign, including an all new stage and soaring roof, world-class sound (by Jaffe-Holden) and lights, a sloped lawn, hospitality building, and the completion of the portion of the RiverWalk surrounding the venue.
