The influence of a modern performing arts center is found in its promise of high-quality artistic opportunities, ranging from nationally touring Broadway productions and dance, orchestra, and symphony performances, popular music, jazz, and more. Housing functional spaces with superior acoustics and fully integrated technology, the new facility will include a 1,200-seat main theatre, an open lobby, and an amphitheater that will serve as an additional performance venue. Auburn’s ability to facilitate learning through the exploration and performance of the arts is a critical component of its outreach to the community. The new performing arts center will complement university, community, and regional initiatives to create inclusive artistic programming that provides meaningful experiences to the community. The Philadelphia Boys Choir and Chorale provides the finest musical training to talented boys and men from the Greater Philadelphia area, regardless of their ethnic, religious or economic backgrounds. Founded in 1968, the Choir has achieved both national and international recognition by performing a diverse repertoire emphasizing the preservation and promotion of American music. PBCC is known for its exceptional musicianship and artistic endeavors, as well as its commitment to break through the most rigid social, political and cultural barriers with its unique message of song. More than 150 boys and men participate in one of the Choir’s three ensembles: the Beginning Cadets, Advanced Cadets, and the Performing Choir. Each year, the Choir performs more than 60 performances in the Greater Philadelphia region, as well as an annual two week national or international tour. In addition to producing seasonal concerts, PBCC collaborates with local arts organizations, churches and business, such as the Pennsylvania Ballet and the Philly Pops. The group has also performed on Good Morning America during the past three holiday seasons. Its message has been heard in more than 49 states and 40 countries around the world. In July 2011, PBCC visited the American west, including a performance at the Grand Teton Music Festival in Wyoming.
