Christine Goodman founded Art House Productions with the desire to connect a devastated community through art and dialogue after September 11th, 2001. Since then, Art House has established itself as a pioneer of artistic and cultural programming in Hudson County. In 2007 Art House became incorporated and was granted nonprofit 501(c)(3) status. In late 2007, the organization was presented with the Key to the City and an official Proclamation for its outstanding contributions to the City of Jersey City, NJ. MISSION To engage, inspire, entertain and challenge audiences with highly intentional visual and performing arts programming; provide arts education to promote lifelong learning to diverse communities; and celebrate the essential power of the arts to illuminate humanity. Art House provides a home for innovative performing, visual, and literary artists to develop new work; presents emerging and under-recognized artists who are making significant contributions to their respective fields; and serves as a safe space for established artists to take creative risks. VALUES We believe... - artists are vital to a healthy and vibrant city in making art accessible to all - art has the power to transform communities - we have a responsibility to encourage and promote the culture and art of all people in our region - the arts help young people dream for a better future

San Diego Repertory Theatre produces intimate, provocative, inclusive theatre. We promote an interconnected community through vivid works that nourish progressive political and social values and celebrate the multiple voices of our region. San Diego Repertory Theatre feeds the curious soul. We are downtown San Diego’s resident professional theatre—celebrating year-round on our three stages and in our art galleries the diversity and creativity of our community. As the resident and managing company of the Lyceum Theatre, we produce and host over 550 events and performances a year. Our mission is informed by a commitment to artistic virtuosity, partnerships with singular artists and our inquisitive neighbors, and lively conversations about our role as citizens in the bi-national region we call home. We choose provocative works of theatre to inspire our audiences and artists to build the communication bridges needed to understand who we are today, and who we might become. The company was founded in 1976 by Sam Woodhouse and D.W. Jacobs. Since moving to the Lyceum in 1986, we have produced 51 mainstage productions by Latino playwrights and hosted artistic residencies by Luis Valdez, Max Roach, Amiri Baraka, Culture Clash, Yehuda Hyman, Marion J. Caffey, Randall Myler, Octavio Solis, Maria Irene Fornes and Herbert Siguenza, who is currently Playwright-in-Residence with special thanks to the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation's National Playwright Residency Program. To date we have produced 50 world premieres. In addition to a 1998 Tony Award® Nomination for It Ain’t Nothin’ But the Blues, we have received over 200 awards for artistic excellence from the San Diego Theatre Critics Circle, Patté Theatre Awards, NAACP, Backstage West, Dramalogue, and StageSceneLA. In 2005, the San Diego Theatre Critics Circle presented the REP with the Craig Noel Award “For 30 Years of Artistic Dedication to Downtown and Diversity.”
