Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum
The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum is a state-of-the-art facility meticulously designed to offer an immersive experience into the life and legacy of our nation’s 16th President. Through an impressive array of hi-tech exhibits, interactive displays, and multimedia programs—complemented by a life-size rustic Indiana cabin that vividly recreates Lincoln’s humble beginnings and a reproduction of the 1861 White House—visitors are transported back in time to witness pivotal moments in his life. The mission of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum is to inspire civic engagement through the diverse lens of Illinois history and share with the world the life and legacy of Abraham Lincoln. We pursue this mission through a combination of rigorous scholarship and high-tech showmanship built on the bedrock of the ALPLM’s unparalleled collection of historical materials – roughly 13 million items from all eras of Illinois history.
