Age UK Hertfordshire
We are a local, independent charity dedicated to improving the lives of older people across the entire county. Our mission is simple: to ensure older people in Hertfordshire are valued, able to live well, and retain their independence throughout later life. We are a vital part of the community, supporting thousands of older residents each year through a wide array of high-quality, trusted services designed to combat loneliness, build resilience, and tackle inequality: • Combating Loneliness and Isolation: Through befriending and our Active Ageing clubs. • Practical and Home Support: Help in the Home and our Handyperson and Gardening Service help people with domestic and practical tasks. • Information and Advice: We provide free, confidential, and quality-assured Information and Advice, covering everything from benefit entitlement and Lasting Powers of Attorney to digital inclusion support. We work in strategic partnership with the NHS, local authorities, and other voluntary sector organisations to create a seamless network of support. The heart of Age UK Hertfordshire is our incredible team of almost 500 dedicated volunteers. Their time, energy, and commitment are what make our essential services possible, touching the lives of older people every single day. Ranging from Befrienders and Lunch Club helpers to Information & Advice support, our volunteers are champions who build a supportive Hertfordshire community. We are proud to be an independent local charity and a Brand Partner of the national Age UK network, committed to high standards of quality and performance. Do you want to partner with us, volunteer your skills, or find out more about how we can help an older person you know? We're always looking for dedicated people to join our team, either as staff or volunteers, and welcome partnerships with local businesses and community groups.
