Institute for Palestine Studies

Last Update: 2025-11-26

The Institute for Palestine Studies, established in 1963, is an independent nonprofit research institution devoted to the study of Palestine and the Arab-Israeli conflict. Its publications, meticulously researched and sourced, are widely respected and extensively cited. There is hardly a serious work on the Palestine question whose references do not include the Institute’s publications. The Institute publishes the Journal of Palestine Studies in English and Arabic. Headquartered in Beirut, the Institute has branch offices in Washington, D.C., and Ramallah, Palestine. The Board of Trustees is comprised of leading Palestinian and Arab figures from North America and across the Middle East. As the first unaffiliated Arab institute ever founded, it has served as a model of independence in the region. The Institute's central library in Beirut is the largest in the Arab world, specializing in Palestinian affairs, the Arab-Israeli conflict, and Zionism. Its archives contain rare books; private papers; newspaper collections in Arabic, Hebrew, and English; and an extensive collection of photographs. Description

ThingsBoard in versions prior to v4.2.1 allows an authenticated user to upload malicious SVG images via the "Image Gallery", leading to a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability. The exploit can be triggered when any user accesses the public API endpoint of the malicious SVG images, or if the malicious images are embedded in an `iframe` element, during a widget creation, deployed to any page of the platform (e.g., dashboards), and accessed during normal operations. The vulnerability resides in the `ImageController`, which fails to restrict the execution of JavaScript code when an image is loaded by the user's browser. This vulnerability can lead to the execution of malicious code in the context of other users' sessions, potentially compromising their accounts and allowing unauthorized actions.
