Hartman Executive Advisors

Last Update: 2025-11-22

Hartman Executive Advisors was founded on a simple but firm belief that every business needs technology leadership in order to power forward in today’s world. So, we set out to create something different: a technology leadership and advisory firm designed to bring executive-level IT strategy, guidance, and governance to mid-market businesses and nonprofits. Because we don’t sell or resell any technology, we are able to sit on our clients’ side of the table and help them make the right technology investments to achieve their business goals at the most efficient cost. Founded in 2004, Hartman has a dedicated team of 80+ IT and cyber professionals who work for our clients across the country. Our team is made up of senior leaders – CIOs, CTOs and CISOs, who know your industry and bring best practices to help organizations be more efficient, competitive, and strategic by using IT to drive their business goals. In addition, we have subject matter experts who bring deep expertise in specific technology disciplines, such as cybersecurity, software selection and utilization, change management, project leadership, etc. This talent allows our clients to benefit from leveraging a full IT team on an as-needed basis at a fraction of the cost. We call our model co-sourced, meaning that we partner with your IT staff and vendors, we don’t replace them.

Description

ThingsBoard in versions prior to v4.2.1 allows an authenticated user to upload malicious SVG images via the "Image Gallery", leading to a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability. The exploit can be triggered when any user accesses the public API endpoint of the malicious SVG images, or if the malicious images are embedded in an `iframe` element, during a widget creation, deployed to any page of the platform (e.g., dashboards), and accessed during normal operations. The vulnerability resides in the `ImageController`, which fails to restrict the execution of JavaScript code when an image is loaded by the user's browser. This vulnerability can lead to the execution of malicious code in the context of other users' sessions, potentially compromising their accounts and allowing unauthorized actions.
