Last Update: 2025-11-26

Trouble Child is a new art and literary magazine based in the Twin Cities! We strive to be a space for people to tell the stories they've never told, the struggles that go unseen—that are worth bringing to light. We are inspired by uncertainty in everyday life, and we want to hear from anyone and everyone inspired by that same feeling. We're anxious as hell, and we know you are too. You don't have to have experience as a writer, artist, or storyteller—just a story you want heard. As a staff, we believe in the strength that is found in reciprocation and relationships created through art, and we want to get to know you! Send us your poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and art at [email protected]. If you need help bringing your story out, then our podcast, The Trouble Children, could be the place for you!

Description

ThingsBoard in versions prior to v4.2.1 allows an authenticated user to upload malicious SVG images via the "Image Gallery", leading to a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability. The exploit can be triggered when any user accesses the public API endpoint of the malicious SVG images, or if the malicious images are embedded in an `iframe` element, during a widget creation, deployed to any page of the platform (e.g., dashboards), and accessed during normal operations. The vulnerability resides in the `ImageController`, which fails to restrict the execution of JavaScript code when an image is loaded by the user's browser. This vulnerability can lead to the execution of malicious code in the context of other users' sessions, potentially compromising their accounts and allowing unauthorized actions.
